Let me throw out some things -- 1. it's totally consistent to say that HFs degrossed *yesterday* around the close and cause the market to drop, and the market is up because they are no longer degrossing.
Lily you are talking like market moves have deterministic and identifiable causes. Most of the time you **can't** tell what moved stocks, especially in the short term. If you could then trading would be easy.
