When I was ~14 I wanted to know how the stock market worked so I asked my dad, who explained that companies raise money from investors and then anyone can buy or sell the stock afterward.

Anyway over the next ~10 years I picked up nuggets of info, eventually got a job in finance, worked for ~10 years, and had a pretty good understanding of how all the pieces fitted together and how fundamentals/price were connected.
