This effort emphasizes that we as a society agree that warfighting is an appropriate—even the preferred—way to handle international policymaking. This is a horrific mistake and Democrats must reject this faux feminism and pinkwashing of the military.
In 2016, a bipartisan group of Representatives, including @RepPeterDeFazio, @RepMikeCoffman, @jaredpolis, & @DanaRohrabacher introduced a bill to abolish the Selective Service, recognizing it as a costly, ineffective U.S. military relic, and puts an undue burden on young men.
The U.S. should not be forcing its citizens, men or women, to fight its wars. It's far past time to abolish the Selective Service. Full stop.
