Obviously @dropboxapi gives a shit about iOS. Migrating to API v2 without even the ability(!) to call it from Obj-C. https://blogs.dropbox.com/developers/2016/04/announcing-the-v1-to-v2-migration-guide/ …

Reading this discussion makes it only worse: They had no idea what they were doing when building a Swift-only SDK. 😂 https://www.dropboxforum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/204715229-To-use-API-v2-in-iOS-platform-we-need-an-objective-C-version …

@macguru17 @olemoritz The fact that their own document provider still doesn’t support “open” mode isn’t a great sign, either.

@agiletortoise @olemoritz but that may also be partly the fault of the document provider API. It seems broken, only few get it working…

@macguru17 @olemoritz Possible, but I have no doubt Apple engineers would have worked with such a big player to help sort that out.

@agiletortoise @olemoritz true. They would had to have really wanted it. But iirc then @BoxHQ is the only one our users find reliable.

@macguru17 it’s Swift, why can’t it be called from Obj-C?

@timonus behause it doesn't inherit from NSObject and uses parametrized enums. Which the devs love too much to make their SDK usable.

@macguru17 fun fact: I started working on an Obj-C Dropbox lib for v2 last night because of this blog post

@macguru17 I can understand that they want to modernize their API but deprecating it for Obj-C users is rude.

      2. Max Seelemann ‏@macguru17 Jun 29

@UIMarcel the API is a different game from the SDK. Doing it swift-only with additional 3rd party dependencies is not rude. It's dumb.
