I suppose my hope in making this is it may impact someone more if they see police abuses in a place they recognize. (Oh, a disclaimer: the text descriptions for the videos are not mine. There is some offensive, possibly triggering language in there.)

I just made more upgrades to the site: multiple shots of same incident are now grouped, data is in sync with
@jasonemiller's spreadsheet, and I fixed most (all?) issues people pointed out to me re: incorrect links/locations. For any wondering: there are ~370 unique incidents.pic.twitter.com/7K9gJsTZgn

I'll add something to the spreadsheet to point people to your visualization tool. It might be useful if you wrote something (linked to the tool) about where your data is coming from. You could also welcome other people to submit evidence to you that you could include on the map.

Hey there, I'm a video journalist at ProPublica. I noticed in the spreadsheet it has file names for each of the tweets -- did you download each video? If so, are you willing to share them?
-
Lucas. I've downloaded as many from Twitter as I can. (I haven't used a screen recorded to take advantage of the 'analog hole', yet.) I've started uploading them to YouTube alphabetically by city. If there's any you want to see first, let me know. Happy to go out of order.

Will this continue to grow with the documented examples from
@greg_doucette and@jasonemiller ?? -
For the moment I have to grab the spreadsheet manually then update the page from that (only takes a few seconds). Was planning to update once per day. In theory a fancier version can be done pulling tweets directly via Twitter API but I haven't gotten around to learning that yet.

@greg_doucette is a national treasure! It is extremely disturbing to view all of the videos but people that don't experience#PoliceBrutality or#PoliceAbuse need to see it all. America needs to know what is going on.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
