You mean outside the fovea you see the illusion where blur might explain it? I don't see much effect inside the fovea, but I might be missing something.

Chromatic channels have poor spatial resolution. This is presumably due to neural mechanisms as well as optics. E.g., see https://foundationsofvision.stanford.edu/chapter-9-color/#Spatial_Pattern_and_Color … in
