I don't know who needs to hear this, but there's no point to sending an IM that says "Hi Kyle," and then waiting until I respond before you ask your question. (And then you're not at your desk anymore, so when I say "what's up?" I don't know if I can leave my desk, and then...)

So it turns out core-js may not be maintained for a while. Just checked the dependency stats on GitHub and holy moly! And that's just the ones on GitHub.

More details about core-js maintainer - looks like he'll be in prison for 1y6m. It's a traffic accident case, so not a political case. No, it's not possible to do programming/oss maintanence from Russian prison, it's ridiculous that someone is suggesting that.

We’ve published an explainer about an idea to harden SMS-delivered one-time passwords by allowing senders to associate the codes with a website. We’ve been talking about the idea with some folks at Google, and would like more feedback.

On to this group, all the hopes and dreams of what is possible are projected. The "community" ponders why certain things are the way they are. And in general, the answer is always the same: the community is tiny. It's time and resources. Not malice, ignorance, nor anything else.

The problem with Open Source is that the community is much smaller than people think. Twitter has a weird way of amplifying folks into thinking the community is large, but when you look at who's doing the work (admittedly, I haven't done much lately) it is a very tiny group.

genuinely love ls-engines from 😍 if you ever want to know what you should be including in the engines property of your packages or apps, just run `npx ls-engines` to find the exact version range that your *dependencies* require.

HTTP/1.1 was ratified 23 years ago. When I started writing ~5 years ago I decided to not support HTTP/1.0. Not only did that not hold, but we continue to get HTTP/1.0 bugs filed against our support for it. Legacy really, truly is forever.

So, uh, when is the JS community going to talk about core-js? It's downloaded over 23 million times a week, has polyfills for stage 0 _and even below_ standards and the author claims to be either going to jail or may already be in jail.
