Cutting off funding to WHO is good. Tedros should resign, Taiwan be given some kind of status, and China formally and officially blamed for COVID.

Even aside from his bungled COVID response, Tedros made *Robert Mugabe* a goodwill ambassador for the WHO, he has advanced efforts to classify traditional Chinese medicine as a valid health protocol, he covered up *3 separate cholera outbreaks* while health minister.

This is not the first time Tedros has covered up a disease outbreak to prop up authoritarians. It's the **fourth** time. And this after WHO's Ebola response was widely panned and they were supposed to fix it for the next epidemic.

The WHO doesn't fight pandemics! That's the thing; 2014-16 Ebola revealed that WHO was basically MIA. They had almost nobody on the ground, and virtually all programs were run by other organizations!https://twitter.com/halvorz/status/1250416699410612224 …

The thing is, if WHO were actually, like, some reserve army of doctors prepared to parachute into epidemic-hit places and rescue countries with bad systems, there'd be some reason to tolerate somebody bad at the top.

But the organization you're thinking of is Médecins Sans Frontières. MSF absolutely deserves support. They're frickin' heroes, people going into the most dangerous places and saving countless lives. That's not WHO.

WHO is a garbage pit that manages to spend more money on travel expenses than on AIDS or tuberculosis or a laundry list of other major diseases.

Meanwhile, they provide covering fire for dictators. Let's actually *not* legitimize that organization!

Here's an article about WHO's luxurious travel standards:https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/who-spends-more-travel-aids-malaria-n762896 …

The point in formally blaming China is to ensure that the history books get it right.https://twitter.com/freddgilbert/status/1250426039894806530 …

(By the way: the reason WHO spends so much on travel is because WHO has basically developed into an organization which primarily hosts conferences and flies experts to those conferences. If the US pulls out, they will still fly in important US experts)

Whether we should have a $4 billion dollar conference-hosting program financed by taxpayers is kind of an interesting question but if we do it probably shouldn't have someone leading it who systematically concealed multiple cholera outbreaks.
