One study doesn't end all discussions but I'll take one shoe-leather epidemiology work like it over all the slick computer-generated simulations. This isn't vaporware, it's real. One restaurant, one asymptomatic person, only 11 in line of A/C out of 93 infected. Real data for us.

You aren’t safer wearing a mask. You are making it safer for others.

I'd say that depends on your mask.

I’m guessing this rationale for wearing masks is not really getting through. Masks are much better at stopping the wearer from exhaling virus particles than at blocking them from inhalation. So… if everyone wears a mask, those who are infected limit the spread.

I'm co-writing a piece clarifying this right now. (It's in copyedit stage, out soon!).

Things aren’t normal. the more that wear masks, the more “normal” it will become. Virus is a highly evolved-it “wants” hosts (us). If we keep those virons in our masks...I protect you & you protect me. It’s really the most smart, democratic, and moral thing to do. Wear it proud.
