        Better yet, support open source or other free alternatives. I've been using Glimpse for photo editing, and Lightworks for video.

        Can you name a few good alternatives for graphical design. A friend of mine wants to make a start in this business and these kinds of strangling contracts are a big risk of you don't have much income to spare.
