I think 1 Remake can be for a first timer because of the tank controls, but that is more of the game design than it is the actual horror element.

2 remake had me screaming with the lights turned off, but once you figure out how mr. x’s limitations and how he “works” by your second play through, it loses a lot of the fear factor

tbh theres no thought more terrifying then having to hear Ashley screaming "LEON LEON LEON LEON" one more time. I know she is the main plot point of the game but it would be a much better game if she didn't exist
