Unlike reviewers who only focus on the story and no side missions which I've heard is a good chunk of the game. Just play how you want.

This is why I will always say semi-open worlds are the best. Open world games for me are too big with very little to do most of the time aside from see the sights while semi-opens let me see the sights but also railroad me just enough so I don't get lost too easily. Example KH
