the switch, hardware-wise, seems like their least gimmicky one tho. I feel like it's never been easier to port a game to a nintendo console.
They have a ways to go but they're getting there
And also being able to publish there easily, also...

I don’t get this take. The only Nintendo console that was gimmicky enough to affect the ability to port was the Wii (not counting Wii U as it was basically the same as Wii). The issue isn’t the gimmick it’s just Nintendo’s refusal to do anything with older games
DS / 3DS are kinda hard to emulate properly.
Hi, game dev here. The Switch is the most straight forward console I have developed for, especially with its use of standard OpenGL and Vulkan APIs. Slap in SDL2 and you can have a game working with the same code between both PC and Switch in a matter of hours.
Really? That’s quite interesting. So, if I’m reading this correctly, games on the Switch can be ported to PC and vice versa without too much difficulty?
Switch is one of the most developerfriendly console they have ever made thanks to the tegra x1? At least thats what ive ben hearing you work with developers or in developing not sure whats your experience?
