I played Yakuza in large part due to it's stellar storytelling of Crime-Dramas and how it masterfully switches between it's silly fun and dark seriousness with ease, without making the player feel offput. I havnt heard for sure, but is Y7 actual a crime-drama? Like prior entries?

All I've heard made Y7 sound more like well, a JPRG than a Yakuza game. The frequent comparisons to DQ, a series I've sadly never really enjoyed, among others things like this tweet here you say "People at rock bottom... Trying to be Heroes" that just sounds tonally different
sorry, long time yakuza fan but 'people at rock bottom trying to be heroes' sounds 100% like yakuza

I didn't mean to sound like an elitist or anything. No intention to say "This is different so it's bad" I just didn't know if I'd like it because the way people talked about it made it sound like something very tonally different than what Yakuza had been.

I have the game, currently on chapter 10 it's definitely a crime drama, it's just going about it in a different way. There's few times it cuts away from ichiban(except for one or 2 times) you learn mostly everything in the plot with him and he's way more proactive.
