I assumed all this game had was a waifu spin on BOTW, what is it actually about?
aside from my bait, its basically a different game and genre; you are the traveller in a new world, you have to do quests, explore an expansive world (its smaller than botw by a lot but maybe has more thought in it?) and while it looks similar and there are similar mechanics

they are still a very different experience; botw is a make your own fun, exploring the world with all the tools you need genshin is a gacha but you can explore the world as you progress

Well, I saw that bait a mile away. I've played BOTW(it was my first switch game, day 1) and I know why I and other people like it. But I don't know what about GI makes it better than BOTW in people's eyes. Are the added waifus and gacha really it? or is there more?

the game only has 2 out of 8 areas rn so most of the map is still hidden (don't know how much because i don't how big the future area will be)
