I have a theory about Hyrule Warriors 2 that is so stupid that it has to be correct; the game is a re-telling of the events of the calamity, that play on Link's mind during the 100 years of stasis as a way to train for the future Hence the incoherent stuff like the bombs etc
that weird egg? a program within the simulation to help Link navigate it controlling the heroes? a way to sync him with the Beasts and Gifts

That would be cool but also wouldn't make sense considering his amnesia.
Funny thing though is that I also liked to imagine the first game's Adventure Mode like a training simulation for Link and/or the other characters.
