I have a theory about Hyrule Warriors 2 that is so stupid that it has to be correct; the game is a re-telling of the events of the calamity, that play on Link's mind during the 100 years of stasis as a way to train for the future Hence the incoherent stuff like the bombs etc

It's not incoherent, in the story DLC of BotW the sheikah slate already had the camera app so it's a possibility that the slate lost the runes somehow during link's sleep but had them before, Link probably just forgot about their existence in the past
