fnaf is so slay and serve idgaf its so good
I suppose also like indirect/implied story about the bigger picture was introduced in FNAF. Who was the purple guy, why did XYZ thing happen? Piecing together the larger story using clues rather than a direct narrative.
I don't know why I've never thought about FNAF that way, that's actually really good insight. Even if it's not for me and I'll probably never play it I guess I really can see the value of it now.
I will always defend the first FNAF, it’s still a real tense experience, not one for the long haul but it has merits, and did bring in a whole new audience whether we like it or not.
I was going to make a post with the same opening. "I will always defend the first FNAF." I think it was a great idea.
“Fnaf might be for kids” I don’t think that at all, FNAF is just something that happened to become popular with kids through youtubers, same as Undertale
I'm an adult and I find it just generally fun. Plus I think it's a good way to introduce people to minimalist horror and the idea horror doesn't have to be over the top and extravagant. Also the games lore is a fun mess to dig through and can be pretty tongue in cheek.
I never really understood why it's for kids. Sure, the "monsters" are relatively goofy, but we have children being murdered and one kid getting a traumatic brain injury.
FNAF wasn’t for kids to begin with. They just got attached to it through YouTube, same with games like Undertale.
