If you are moving soon, start to take videos DAILY. Even a selfie works. They will always notice 'something' but you have hard evidence it was post your leaving Literally can't do shit and have to send you the deposit (plus if you left stuff behind they have to pay for it)

Sadly my last one kept our pet deposit even though we not only cleaned but hired professional cleaners (and the house had no carpet) because she claimed it 'smelled like cats'. X[
