Youtube, in their effort to make the platform worse each day, has decided to axe the captions feature which helped deaf and no speakers of a language enjoy videos. Awesome stuff as always

Looks like it's only community-contributed captions, not all captions?

(not that that's a happy thing either, but it's a slightly different proposition, and I first saw this in my feed implying all captions were going away)

I mean, the cynical answer is that they can't be all going away because accessibility laws. The more realistic answer is the PMs probably think auto captions are good enough.
