the context is fun because its a parody podcast about consumerism and most people who post it feeds are either porn and game news or porn and giveaways
I think the weird thing is... did they buy all that just for the skit? Or did they already own those? I see it as a parody of a very specific brand of corporate podcasts like Collider, but their fans seem to use it as a reference to anyone who’s a fan of something
My opinion is that I suspect that their point is that it ultimately doesn't matter, as long as you don't turn yourself into a mindless consumer. What I mean by that is that, for example: one of them is a really big Star Trek fan, has seen the old episodes thousands of times and+
