I've actually had a job in sales/customer service for a while now and feel pretty confident about it. The big key for me was to project a fictional other-me who's into small-talk and is happy all the time. I can't do that outside of my job, though. It's not actually *me*.
If you can and have felt the need before, I would reccomend checking on a therapist. Seems to me you are forcebly neglecting yourself

I do appreciate the sentiment, but I've already seen two different psychologists at different points. They were both very helpful in their own ways, but some things just don't change, it seems. I've also tried two different anti-depressants, none of which have really been enough.

Shit, I apologise for sounding like this. It's not that I've completely given up or that I don't want help, if that's the impression I'm giving off. I just really wish things weren't so... difficult.
