If you ask me how they could make a proper challenge in Pkmn it should be like DQXIS Draconian Quest. Basically it allows you to enable mutators like 'Harder enemies' 'more enemies' 'all enemies have a KO attack' and more weird stuff like 'people give misleading lines' 1/2
Imagine you start the game and you can add more wild pokemon, more harder enemies, enemies harder at specific times... New player? just play with no mutators! Veteran? Go crazy These can be deactivated - activated at special item/location so you can experiment freely 2/2
I just do runs where I limit which Pokémon I use. Currently doing a run with just two Wooloo
I read Pkmn as Pikmin and not Pokemon. I was confused for a bit.
There’s even stuff like this in the game. You could have the overlelled traded Pokémon penalty be an option for every Pokémon. Maybe one option replaces all of your abilities with defeatist or slow start or something
Like jack up the prices in the shops too!
Also make every Gym Leader have different kinds of Pokemon, not just one type. Maybe have Gym Leaders use strategic sets of Pokemon like what tournament players come up with
