IT IS!!! And once you realized that the pledge was a lie, that there never has been any “justice for all” and decide not to say it, you could get in trouble! Both by peers getting angry, and getting punished by teachers via detention.
Peer pressure as well. Dang, it sounds so like...from bioshock or something? Like im sorry to compare it to games but seems so out there you know?

How about this: the pledge isn't something that's necessarily true at the moment, but it's something Americans want to STRIVE for.
