Every day I was to say this. It wasn’t until I was about 15 that I fully realized how much of a lie this was. I haven’t said it since. We all do it in the morning before class. We put a hand to our hearts, and recite this to a piece of fabric hanging off of the wall.

IT IS!!! And once you realized that the pledge was a lie, that there never has been any “justice for all” and decide not to say it, you could get in trouble! Both by peers getting angry, and getting punished by teachers via detention.
