I'm curious so let's see: Would you be okay with big AAA games to have longer dev cycles if that means you have to wait but the team gets properly paid/no crunch? RT because im legit curious

I agree - and as nice as bonuses are, they are not and should never be a replacement for an ACTUAL wage. If you can't afford to pay your employees, cut your own pay, I say. Like Mr. Iwata, god rest his soul, did.

Then you've got people like Gearbox's Randy Pitchford who promises bonuses for crunching and then doesn't give out the bonus because the game didn't sell as well as its predecessor
