Does the first game not specifically mention the 99% convictions? I feel like I learned about it from those games.

TBF the 99% conviction rate is often taken out of context. That only applies to indictments which prosecutors only go for if they’re confident they can get a guilty. Most people who are arrested get let go due to lack of evidence or for only doing minor crimes.

I think it's like that in the US, too, just that TV makes it seem like the opposite because all you get are stories of ppl being framed or wrongly accused/etc. because they're more interesting.

That's just it: media interference tends to mess with court hearings, something that has been a longstanding problem since the 1950's. Now with tabloids ever being so present, it doesn't help since an attorney could spin the story to the defendant's favor, even WITH evidence.
