yeah my biggest issue with MCU Thanos is he acts like two different characters depending on the scene. hes either more morally gray / an agent of Balance, or acts more like comics Thanos who was an agent of Death. he feels unfinished as a character. horribly inconsistent.

I found the plan incredibly stupid and unclear. What about the microbes/plants/other living things that create the oxygen/other gases the intelligent beings need to breathe? the creatures they eat? What about alien civs that were already in balance?

There's also the issue of symbiosis. Some creatures need others to function or even survive. For example, a coral might survive the Thanos snap, but if half it's symbiotic zooxanthellae are dead, it might be a problem.
