So much to chew over in Trump’s Rose Garden speech, but I’m stuck on this: He claimed previous presidents have told him they wish they’d built a border wall. Really? Obama? Bush 43? Clinton? Bush 41? Carter? None has signaled in any way that he is pro-wall.

Inbox: Rep. Steve Cohen introduced two Constitutional Amendments today. One to eliminate the Electoral College and provide for the direct election of the POTUS and VPOTUS. One to prohibit presidents from pardoning themselves, family members, members of their admin and campaign.

I've been looking into viability of a voting-rights bill in NM. Dems have a 4-3 edge on House Committee on Elections. One of 4 Dems was state Rep. Debbie Rodella, who helped killed bills like AVR. But Rodella lost the June Dem primary to a progressive. (Local elections matter.)

Laws limiting public record requests to state residents are nonsensical. Louisiana is not a sovereign territory closed to non-residents. Setting aside the complexities of interstate commerce, visitors to the state are subject to its laws.

Call your House members and tell them to vote NO tomorrow on . We all remember the tragic mistake Dems made in 2009 at the beginning of the Obama years by compromising from the beginning. 202-225-3121
