To me the singularly most helpful thing to know about a function when working on code is whether that function has exactly 1 callsite. I wonder how it would affect my workflow if (1) I was able to use an IDE and (2) it put a little number next to a function noting callsite count
I've started defining most helper functions within the body of their caller for this reason. More generally, it'd be cool to see a language with more granular/flexible scopes, e.g. "the scope of this 'global' var is actually just these two functions."
