First dependency I'm considering since rsc got people talking about dependencies: https://github.com/hashicorp/yamux . Surprisingly nice, no red flags yet.

We used to use Muxado actually prior to building Yamux. We had a LOT of problems (circa early 2014, maybe fixed now) which ultimately caused us to switch out and build our own.
We were planning to use Yamux but ran into some issues. We also considered building our own... it's a shame, it really feels like a problem that should have been solved once and standardized 20 years ago.

Smux is nice and tiny, but I'm a little surprised by its use of channels. The approach taken in yamux is what I consider the intuitive approach. (I'll file an issue about fuzz testing in Yamux.)
