Startup idea: A mechanical device that calculates hash functions. Dial in your input, turn the crank a few dozen times, then read off the hash. Safer than trusting a computer, and faster than doing it manually on paper.

Ideally you'd have three machines: one for hashing, and two for creating+verifying signatures. Then you could transact in #Bitcoin without ever needing to trust silicon. :)
