I switched from El Capitan to High Sierra. When I hit <c-r> in zsh, it deletes the space at the end of the prompt when completing results. So I expect to see `$ old-cmd-here` but instead I see `$old-cmd-here`. Why does it do this and how do I fix it?

Everything on computers is slightly wrong all the time and I am mad about it.

Years ago, I switched from bash to zsh entirely because zsh didn't mangle my prompt when I hit <c-r>. Now zsh mangles my prompt, so maybe this will be what gets me to try fish.
