Enjoying T.S. Eliot’s The Dry Salvages during the quiet hour this morning. This part stood out during this time of distress and perplexity. It’s always good to slow down with in the mad rush of life!

Thankfully the driver realised after other deliveries and came back. I still think the is too powerless to do much when issues arise. If you can’t call drivers, offer redelivery slots, or compensation, what’s the point? Thank you driver!

What’s the point of ordering online if you cannot rely on it. When we are supposed to be staying at home and not going out, we are now forced back out due to the severe lack of slots. Both times Asda have let me down. Not again.

They apparently can’t ring the driver. They can’t arrange a redelivery. They can only refund the missing items (all my fridge items). They apparently can’t even offer any compensation. Last time my order was cancelled an hour before with no reason given.

Thanks for ruining my evening. Rather than the enjoyable online whisky tasting I was meant to be doing I’ve been on the phone to who have been unable to do anything when half my order was left in the van. I rang minutes after he left.

...beginings and detect within them not only the delusions of the emotionally adolescent ego but the embryonic promptings of a generous heart fit for discipleship.' I LOVE this. Sums up some of my own feelings about fiction/imagination in discipleship. THIS is why I write. 3/3

Gemma Simmonds SJ describes his vocation as "effectively sparked off by [16thC novels:] the equivalent of adventure movies or cyber-games in which exhilaratingly heroic deeds are done for some great cause. Ignatius was able to take these cruely shallow and naively romantic... 2/3

It's a huge privilege being free to read and think about Christian vocation for so long. It's both intellectually and spiritually stimulating. Reading an essay on Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises, I'm wonder if I should become Ignatian! I should CERTAINLY read the Exercises. 1/3

Giving a book gives an entire new universe to discover and explore. I'd be so grateful if you could recommend my books to someone this , or buy some copies for gifts. They would be great, particularly for 8-14 year olds or to read as a family.

This is such a creative podcast. I don’t think I’ve come across anything else like it. It’s 15 minute episodes are creative narrative retellings of Scripture. One to check out. Thanks for the shoutout for the books!

The book launch last month/having Covid means I’m on social media way more than I want at the mo. Hardly extreme but I’m going offline for a bit. I want my SM to be controlled by me, not me controlled by it. Scary how quickly it becomes a time sink. Sorry for delayed replies.
