Re this map, we will keep updating it as rain falls, water infrastructure projects get up and running etc. Things can change pretty quickly. So it’s a way to track how things are looking.

Running out due to drought and made worse by selling off their water rights to Chinese agricultural firms, mining or to bottle water companies All agreements should be torn up and water RIGHTS returned to us.

It would be good to report on this Today, corporations can buy water rights. Due to this, 70% of water allocations in the Murray-Darling Basin are owned by two corporations: Webster, and Ron and Peter Harris of Ravensworth Agriculture Company.https://www.greenleft.org.au/content/rivers-crisis-amid-drought-corporations-are-buying-australia-water?fbclid=IwAR2DLiv03CQRYSBX3uwk_HLYs6FDnNKA4cZJ7HyO5Wg7bQY7t2z8lJuMpi4 …

@ABCRural what about the Darling/Baaka? Missing towns: - Menindee has been trucking in water for nearly a year - Pooncarie ran out of water last September. - Brewarrina nearly out of water@cmtesta@JaneMacallister -
Some prob don't meet technical definition of running out of water... Menindee on potable bore water for drinking (though many prefer the nicer generously donated filtered water). Copi Hollow also still at 60%. Raw water carted to Pooncarie but town on bore wter for drinking.

Maybe council’s should set themselves up as mining companies. The States and Feds will be falling over themselves to hand over trillions of litres of the stuff.
