Guidance should take into account how policies will be applied in the real world The latest CDC guidance will be misused by employers to pressure workers to go back early even if they are still sick That's bad policy, no matter how much you claim you are "following the science"

It will also be exploited by those acting in bad faith. Check out tweets from Rs, anti mask and anti vax groups to see how it is being framed…

Misused? Pretty sure the point of the new guideline was to just get people back to work

I have a pregnant friend who’s an X-ray tech in a hospital outside Baltimore and is on day 6 of covid. It hit her hard and they called her in to work tonight because they have 421 employees out with covid and the cdc says she can go back to work after day 5 with a mask on. WTF

Speaking soon with @Acosta on @AC360: The CDC's decision to reduce isolation & quarantine for #covid19 was necessary to prevent collapse of critical infrastructure. The US will soon surpass our previous peak of infections & could top 1 million new cases a day. pic.twitter.com/aaFCpm25Dd

It also sounds terrible for one’s health, to tax yourself while sick, rather than rest. @mtosterholm @CIDRAP said: “Well, you know, it’s not about what you can or can’t do. The science is first. And then we can understand: then we can decide what you can or can’t do.” #VaxPlus

I wonder if they were getting pressure from business since so many are out sick/smaller work force. The new guidelines seem so hastily decided.
