    This systematic review and meta-analysis published in Oral Health & Preventive Dentistry aimed to evaluate the association between periodontitis and nosocomial pneumonia in individuals in intensive care units (ICUs). The meta-analysis demonstrated that individuals with periodontitis were more likely to have nosocomial pneumonia than individuals without periodontitis. The result underscores the role of oral health care providers in ICUs.
