Easier to do in a more narrow Muay Thai stance no? Not the dominant stance anymore, maybe it’s about time it was to stop the calf kick

He looks like he only lifted his leg (he is supposed to turn towards the kick).

Screenshot doesn't show the full story. Kick made contact just above Aldo's ankle on the weaker part of the shin. Was also a relatively high calf kick (would've landed just below the knee with no check), while it's the low calf kick that you can't really effectively check
