it’s Jess.’s Tweets

Took a break from twitter to focus on my work and… Honest to God made huge progress in everything I do. There’s so many people here I like, but overall this place makes ME worse as a person. Also. It’s weird here now. I’m sure I’ll check back again.

Taking a break from twitter for a bit. I feel like it brings out the worst in me and also, I’m really neglecting my work. I can be found on pretty much every other social media platform under loveheylola (in case you miss me).

Also, shout out to my dead mother who always said I was faking when I was sick, so now I have gone through literal cancer thinking things like “I know my radiated, burnt skin is actually falling off of my body, but do I really need pain relief or do I just think I do?”

I made these earrings with trash plastics, metal scraps, bio resin, and classified documents. Who among us isn’t hoarding classified documents?

These are currently sold out, but those black and white beads are old wires and those colorful flowers and leaves are straws. I do regular clean-ups and turn some of the garbage I find into jewelry ❤️

Me: posts videos of myself collecting brightly colored trash during clean-ups Random commenter: I wish I had that much free time… Me: Spends “free time” making wearable sculptures out of brightly colored trash that I collected during clean-ups…

Did a live interview about my work on a national television program today and learned 2 things: 1.) Your ipad camera can track your movements to keep you centered in the frame 2.) My ipad is not going to turn that function off, no matter how many times I try. 😑😑😑

I made these flowers out of discarded straws and I turn them into earrings. I feel like more people pay attention to me on twitter when I talk about my cancer stuff, but I don’t just want to talk about my cancer stuff. I make pretty things from garbage, too.

My biological family: “you’re trash and you’ll never make it as an artist” Me: grows up to be an artist who makes a living selling trash. I win.

I’m just a few hundred dollars away from a really big sales goal I set for my trash jewelry and art. Is it weird that I really want to hit this goal before I hit the one year anniversary of my cancer diagnosis (in 2 weeks)? Anyway. Please buy my trash. ❤️

Welcome to my series of photos where I was photographing some beautiful jelly fish and an annoying whale shark kept getting in the way. Also did you know whale sharks don’t like jelly fish? I guess they get stung too. Maybe we need to give them stinger suits.

When people are like “I’m not wearing a mask unless I know someone around me is immunocompromised” WHAT DOES IMMUNOCOMPROMISED LOOK LIKE? (I have now had this conversation so many times. I promise you, if I take enough pain medication & wash my hair, you can’t tell I’m sick)

Wordle 207 6/6 🟨 🟨🟨 🟨🟩 🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 First time. I absolutely felt like an idiot.
Thing that I’ve noticed since I was diagnosed with #cancer : women can only show their breasts on social media if they’ve literally had their nipples cut off due to a deadly disease.
