Best explanation of Ordinals (NFTs on #Bitcoin). Personally I'm not a fan of using a ledger to store arbitrary data, but since it's permissionless... 🤔

"Cypherpunks write code", wrote Eric Hughes in 1993. It became the Cypherpunk rally cry. But by 1996, Hughes came to believe that code alone does not cut it. To realize Cypherpunk ideals like anonymous transactions, "some measure of toleration in society" is necessary, he wrote.

If you focus on one benefit of climate change and ignore massive drawbacks like fires, droughts, floods, heat waves, sea level rise and ocean acidification, you can believe your own fairytale that you're actually doing something good People fall for this horseshit unfortunately

#Bitcoin is a massive paradox

1/7 Environmentally, Bitcoin has a positive:negative ratio of 31:1 This mean Bitcoin is probably the most important ESG technology of our time As a fund manager I'd opine its gross negligence for an ESG investor not to consider it in their mix Here's a data summary 👇 🧵

Once they see how mining balances grids... Once they see how mining incentivizes renewables and nuclear... Once they see how mining replaces fossil-powered heating... Once they see how bitcoin substitutes for more carbon-intensive equities...

1/8 Bitcoin's path to emission neutral * All industries emit more than they abate * But since Bitcoin mining can use stranded power sources other industries can't, it could be the world's 1st industry (outside renewable energy) to abate more than it emits Let's see how

To clarify, I don't think Pertsev should go to jail for building a financial privacy tool. I do think that his control over TC, and the profits he made from it, made him vulnerable. Amazing that Satoshi realized this in 2008, before publishing the whitepaper pseudonymously

The greed (token pre-mine) of the developers of Tornado Cash is being used against them by the Dutch prosecution, arguing TC is centrally controlled Satoshi said on Feb 15, 2009: "I hope it’s obvious it was only the centrally controlled nature of those systems that doomed them."

If the productivity gains from technology are not allowed to flow to society in the form of lower prices, the technology that is supposed to free us......will instead enslave us. If you don't understand how critical #Bitcoin is in creating an abundant future, it's time to learn

Lol 🤣 after the Celsius, Luna and FTX ponzis blew up, we're now going to have a Roger Ver "Verse" token? If you get rekt by this in the future it's all your own fault (and Ver's ofc)

If it hasn't been clear to you that Bitcoin dot com is NOT Bitcoin (but bitcoin.org is) then it should be clear now.

How does make money? 1- acquire unregistered security token at 90% discount 2- promote token (by lying) via their media business 3- get token listed on 4- dump token on retail as soon as it's listed 5- rinse and repeat

After calling bullsh*t on Luna, Celsius, and FTX well before any of them collapsed, I have a bit of credibility with the mainstream media. I want to use that credibility to call attention to the worst and largest of all the scam perpetrators in the "crypto" space, @a16z 🧵👇

Look at these hardy, crazy fuckers, holding #Bitcoin for over 6mths, and literally unchanged in their supply, despite the an end-of-world collapse happening around them. Whoever owns this stupid thing must be batshit insane... ...or have immense conviction, undeterred by chaos.
