Someone posted to #cscw2020 that when we are able to go back to in-person events, we don't want to lose the inclusivity benefits of remote participation. I agree, but don't know how to do this. Specifically, we simply cannot replicate the in person experience remotely.
As far as I can tell, this absolutely means that the remote experience will be a second-class experience compared to in-person. I am observing what people are doing now and thinking about ways we can create a great hybrid experience, but...
I certainly don't think I'm smart enough to figure out how to avoid "remote participation is second class".
