In my time I’ve experienced Discrimination and Harassment at events e.g. more than once being told “you’re so gay” or physically trying to intimidate me in closed rooms or unsolicited “warnings” that they know my home address while at unofficial social gatherings.
Aaron, like others, I find this shocking and reprehensible. I don't think you've told me this before, and count me among those who, if we hear that this happens in the future, will support you and ensure appropriate action is taken against the perpetrator.

The nice thing is our pathways allow for reporting to others so we don’t need to burden all volunteers. I think a survey might help shed light on the numbers and if resolutions were found without widespread disclosure of private issues. Tricky to run effectively of course.

Also, I hope I was clear that “events” != all ACM things. Some were ACM and I used the policy to report then but also other types of events. I’m reflecting on this now as I hope I’m approachable for new events but people may need other pathways to find support eg CARES
