I’ll vote for whomever is the nominee coming out of the DNC, and neither were my first choice, but I’m going to focus my giving and volunteering energy on other down-ballot races.
For me, preserving democracy -- which absolutely requires ejecting Trump -- is about 10 times more important than anything else. This is not to minimize the importance of down ballot races, either.

My point was that given the existential threat of Trump and the importance of building a big tent coalition to decisively beat him, the final two candidates employed strategies and messaging that alienated large parts of the base, activists, and swing voters.
