i was trying to dissect this in wang tile terms, but i'm not actually sure what constitutes an edge. it's like there's only one edge type, but it has a handedness? and edges don't match with themselves, they need to be paired with one with the opposite chirality.

If you made pre-rotated versions of these, it would seem like you do functionally have 2 edge types corresponding to chirality, but you are right it isn’t quite the same. This is awesome, I need to dig more into it! Thank you for sharing!
