    Results of the 59th Long Point Christmas Bird Count are now available on the LPBO Sightings Board. Forty-four hardened birders observed 21,247 individuals of 92 species - remarkable considering the conditions. Read more here -

    The Bird of the Year! Cedar Waxwing. Their populations seem to be doing well at Long Point - lets hope they have a banner year. While some are present all year, they won’t peak again until the second week of May.

    A special thank-you to volunteers Paula & Ted Gent! Not only are they superstars at stuffing envelopes, but they've also stepped up to the (cookie) plate. They brought some amazing treats for today's staff holiday party at our office in Port Rowan, ON!

  20. A wet, soggy and cold is a wrap! 40+ observers persevered through rain, sleet, freezing rain, wet snow, snow and slush of every description. We found north of 90 species with some routes yet to report. Stay tuned for a full report.
