I agree. I however see this specific joke as more a critique on his generation than today’s kids and the Parkland survivors. Yes, he calls them boring and it does pander to alt-right talking points at one point, but the general message is more: we were immature, they’re not.

That's an interesting read on it. Not how I see it. At worst I see him as saying "shut up kids, leave it to old guys."

I’d say he’s pointing out the that these kids have no more expertise on gun related issues than anyone else. Part of why I think it’s funny is because there’s some truth there, and he goes someplace most comedians wouldn’t dare.

No more expertise?? What a brain dead take. They have literally experienced gun violence. They’re speaking out of necessity. Because they don’t have the luxury of NOT speaking up.

Having a unique experience reguarding the subject does not mean you have more expertise.

Pardon me also for confusing expertise w intense personal experience. And I’ll pardon you for not knowing how to spell “regarding”

As offensive as everything he said in the lead up to that was, I literally gasped "oh my God" when he said that. Louis C.K. is doubling down on being a garbage human being. Btw, I'm 54 and at 18 was running away from home after being outed. He's always represented garbage.

That's cool. I'd probably not listen or watch any of his sets in the future if i were you.
