All parties must isolate and condemn extremist groups promoting political violence. This is not partisanship but patriotism. We are already seeing How Democracies Die play out in the daily news.

Public opinion polling taken on the day esp the YouGov survey taken at 5pm eastern on the day isn’t something that should be cited by serious analysts or scholars without very strong caveats attached. Date, time, methodology etc.

A third view the entire process can begin even after the president is out of office. "The constitutional case for late impeachment has more strengths and fewer flaws than the case against it," Brian Kalt, Michigan State Univ College of Law in widely cited law review article.

One group says a president can be impeached only while in office. "I tend to believe it is only for current office holders," said Harvard law professor Cass Sunstein, author of "Impeachment: A Citizen's Guide. "

New survey by HuffPost:YouGov. There are now multiple new public opinion surveys coming out. And as the public learns more about what happened, attitudes are likely to change. They already have. This is the third survey I have seen so far.

It is not possible to overstate how consequential a decision it was for Twitter to take down Trump’s Twitter account. 88 million followers that won’t be recovered on another platform. The immediate loss of a platform that the President has used to stoke hatred and incite violence
