Today I learned that Sean Bean is so afraid of helicopters that during the filming of certain LOTR scenes, he spent two hours in the morning climbing up the side of a mountain dressed as Boromir
10. The 7th Guest (did not place)
Didn't expect this to feature as this was entirely a personal choice from my childhood - but if you like old FMV games in weird haunted mansions with odd point and click puzzles, then you can still play this on Steam.
9. Alan Wake (did not place)
He's Alan Wake, and he's a writer. But this is not the story you want it to be. This story will eat you alive.
Alan often gets overlooked in his little town of Bright Falls, but he's got a sequel coming out this year YESSS
8. Bioshock (placed 23rd)
This was another challenging one, because I love the second game a lot. But Andrew Ryan aka Armin Shimerman's "Welcome to Rapture" monologue seals the deal. Love him as Dr Nefarious too, by the way.
7. Hades (placed 38th)
It came from nowhere to dominate awards ceremonies and rejuvenated the roguelike scene whilst serving hot immortals and a good story. This is the only game I put on my list that came out after 2013.
Very excited for the sequel!
6. Tomb Raider 2 (did not place)
I chose this one because it's the one that more people joined the franchise with. Personally, the first is my favourite.
However, not a single Tomb Raider game placed on the list. Uncharted 2 is probably the closest comparison at 34th place.
5. Harvest Moon (did not place)
Whilst many voted for Stardew Valley (placed 49th), I chose the OG game franchise that inspired it and so many other farming sims.
Here's a fun interview with Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon devs about farming sims <3
4. Portal 2 (placed 8th)
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction as the science gets done and you make a neat gun for the people who are still alive...
Hilarious writing, ridiculously good puzzles - and there might be cake at the end for you!
2. The Last of Us (placed 2nd)
Made us cry within the first ten minutes and never let us look at joke books the same way again. Naughty Dog's environments at their very finest (PS3/PS5), with cyclical themes of revenge and family worthy of a gothic novel. Also I love the show <3
1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (placed 16th)
I've never completed this game and I don't care. I'll install more mod expansions before that happens! It's the perfect balance of quirk, charm and RPG all wrapped in a dragon shout parcel.
okay as funny as the good doctor can be from how absurd it is, please do not let that distract you from the fact that showβs main actor and cast has actively supported autism speaks, a hate group that actively is involved in funding eugenics to eradicate autistic people.
I changed Libby's dry food yesterday, as she had gone off the old stuff. This picture was after she piggled her way through a bowl.

I will be a bit late to the stream but I have my fruit and veg for the year! If youβre a Bristol local, make sure to check out Sandayβs Nursery in Almondsbury - long term customer and fan of their toasties βοΈ

this has also unlocked a core memory of my very tall and thin primary school headmaster putting on his glasses and jokingly pretending to hypnotise a group of us so that we wouldn't run in the corridor
RIP to the Demon Headmaster, aka Terrence Hardiman.
He was a man that terrified and delighted a nation of kids in the CBBC adaptation of Gillian Cross' book:

Inspiration porn is the objectification of disabled people and their experiences for the benefit of non-disabled people.
During TEDx, Stella Young explains that it exists βto motivate you so that we can look at them and think, well however bad my life is, it could be worse.β
Can we talk abt how this is literally just Inspiration Porn for hearing people, and how hearing aids aren't always the right answer.
Hearing aids don't "fix" us.
Im 60% deaf, and use bone conductor hearing aids as I don't have ears.
