Ethan Frome killed me
Were you also forced thru a theme unit that I now call "the sad Victorian white ladies unit" -- Ethan Frome, Yellow Wallpaper, The Awakening ughhhh never again
I loved everything I read in HS except for Gatsby. My honorable mention is Middlemarch but to be fair, I never actually read it. I just assume to this day I'd have hated it.

A Light in August. Barely cracked it, and I was an honors English student. Couldn’t be bothered by Faulkner.
