Giving a 2h conceptual (no calculations) intro to Bayes & causal inference tomorrow at local Uni. Redundant w my book, but compressed and easier. Slides are up already, and will try to record.

How to find new models from a given data set? This is a major challenge with great relevance to many disciplines, from physics to complexity. Here's a very important contribution to creating a Bayesian Scientist Machine by et al.

Today I will be teaching my undergrad course "How to build a brain from scratch" for the 2nd year running. I've put the materials online - include a document with all lecture slides and notes, which is about as long as a decent novel. Enjoy!

“If you’re a philosopher of science, you probably don’t take Popper’s philosophy seriously. But if you’re...a scientist, there is a pretty good chance that you think you agree with Karl Popper. I am here to explain to you that no, you probably do not”

Yesterday, I gave an easy intro to causal diagrams for some MA students at the Uni. For reading I chose 1999 paper by & Robins bc it contains not a single equation to scare a student with. Other options without equations?
